In-depth experiences to raise potential via team-building, true leadership, and personal clarity

We believe the most crucial element of any sustainably high-functioning organization is trust. And trust is not a zero-sum game.

Trust is the essential lubricant that allows team-members to efficiently and effectively move together like a well-oiled machine, especially under pressure. Our research and experience shows that as trust begins to break down, organizations begin to spend significant time, energy, and resources to work through the inefficiencies that arise from the resulting unclear communication, brewing conflicts, and vague leadership.

You can always build to greater effectiveness in teams by building deeper levels of trust – both skill-based and intention-based. Our workshops aim to build heightened levels of trust amongst individuals and teams by generating formidable awareness of behaviors and motivations that unlock the gateway to improved performance.

Using the framework of the Enneagram, our proprietary models, and experiential learning through multimedia and interactive exercises, each workshop is designed to revolutionize working relationships and empower people to reach their full potential.

*For team sizes up to 20 persons; larger teams require further discussion
on how best to facilitate for maximum effectiveness

Communicating Across Barriers

Communicating Across Barriers

Effective communication is the fulcrum of a highly functioning organization or team. What underlies effective communication is intentionality, clarity, and the ability to meet others precisely where they’re at. In reality, even the best communicators can misunderstand and are oft misunderstood because of fundamentally different communication styles, both verbal and virtual. The result is inefficiency due to confusion, frustration, and diminished morale.

This workshop empowers people to understand nine distinct styles of communication and proactively bridge the gaps for highly consistent and inspired forward movement.

Contextualizing Feedback

Contextualizing Feedback

Feedback is one of the most vital means of self- improvement. Every organization has an inbuilt feedback process. But a question must be begged: Do these mechanisms actually enhance employee performance? Research points to the contrary that a great percentage of the workforce is in fact feedback averse. Individuals typically feel unqualified to give feedback or discouraged to receive it.

This workshop raises the quality of feedback giving and receiving from often being mired in generalities or personality issues to actionably motivating others towards personal excellence.

Navigating Conflict

Navigating Conflict

Conflict is unavoidable. It is even a necessary function of strong decision-making to press for the best course of action. However, conflict demands the maturity of all parties involved to capitalize on the benefit of diverging viewpoints and assimilate them seamlessly. Individuals are prone to getting caught up in the heat of conflict and burnt on all sides.

This workshop will impart perspective on how to harmonize forces rather than allow differences to eat away at the momentum of a team.

Beyond Ping-Pong Tables: Building
Better Organizational Cultures

Beyond Ping-Pong Tables: Building Better Organizational Cultures

Progressive organizations are apt to take icons from the ping-pong table to arcade games, and other cool like-to-have’s as the sign of their being on the cutting edge of culture. As much as this may promote informality, the substance of culture, is of course, not found in any of these props. What we need is a link to strong values and an intentional approach that transmits these values beyond their external counterparts.

This workshop stimulates discussion and action around developing an intentional culture that forms the backbone of human interaction and forward-movement in the office.

Forming Highly Effective Teams

Forming Highly Effective Teams

Working in a team requires a very high level of interpersonal skills to accommodate and get the best out of each member. Without striving for this sophisticated understanding of the individuals that make up a team, the tightness is not even a question. And working in a slow-moving, what to speak of dysfunctional team, can be the most exasperating experience for anyone invested in the team’s objectives. On the other hand, nothing is as rewarding as moving together fluidly towards a common goal with mutual appreciation of each person’s contributions.

This workshop will impart team-building skills that play to each individual’s specific strengths.

Harnessing Inherent Leadership

Harnessing Inherent Leadership

The emotional weight a leader must carry is tremendous. To be relied upon by diverse individuals means the leader must know and trust him or herself profoundly. For that caliber of knowledge and trust in oneself, honest self-reflection and personal development work is critical.

This workshop is designed to offer all individuals opportunity to sharpen their inherent leadership skills and develop the emotional bandwidth to carry the weight of a progressive team.

Getting Past The Walls:
Maximizing Your Team’s Potential

Getting Past The Walls:
Maximizing Your Team’s Potential

A team is only as successful as its contributing members. Rather than fusing together diverse talents to arrive at positive and high impact goals, most often, individuals within a team present the most substantial obstacles to the goals. If organizations truly understood, beyond the smooth PR talk, how the inspired team member naturally engenders increased creativity and productivity, the face of business would look dramatically different.

This workshop is aimed at training individuals to naturally facilitate such a work atmosphere based on high levels of personal awareness and inspiration.

Visioning: Creating the Blueprint
and DashboardTM
for Your Team

Visioning: Creating the Blueprint
and DashboardTM
for Your Team

We all know that companies require a vision and mission for the world to take them seriously. However, successful vision-casting that reaches its carriers on an emotional level and sticks with them as a force of inspiration is hard-fought and hard-won. Moreover, for the individual to plug into the overarching vision and mission of a company adds several layers of abstraction to the equation.

This workshop facilitates an interactive vision- casting process that will lead, not only to concrete and inspiring statements, but also to the motivation of each individual to sustainably manifest them.

“In the workplace, we rarely share what’s going on beneath the surface. At most companies, the unspoken expectation is that you park your emotional life at the door, put on your game face, and keep things light and professional. In short, you bring a part of yourself to work and try to suppress the rest. But at what cost – including to productivity? The more preoccupied we are with emotions we can’t express, the less focus we bring to our work.”

Testimonials

  • Rasanath and Hari Prasada facilitated a retreat for CARE’s Strategic Partnerships team as we emerged from a period of significant organizational transition, including the merger of another team into ours. They used a logical progression to help us reach a very practical conclusion about our purpose and way forward. The exercises were appropriately challenging. We are immediately able to implement the results via integration into our annual operating plan and special team initiatives. Rasanath and Hari Prasada created an environment that gave everyone on the team, including our two new members, the confidence to contribute. They kept us motivated by effectively reading the team’s mood and allocating time well. We only wish we could have more time with them!

-Marcela Hahn, Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships & Alliances at CARE USA

  • Hari Prasada and Rasanath create a trusting yet challenging environment that is fertile for discovery. They challenge conventional management techniques and present refreshing alternatives. Their research is thorough and intelligent, their approach imaginative, and their delivery humorous and graceful. They heighten our internal sense of awareness and present the incredible promise that the power to change exists within each of us.

-John Servin, Director of Asset Management and Retirement Planning at The Fleischer Jacobs Group

  • I’ve attended more than a dozen team retreats and the Upbuild Visioning offsite really stood out for its simple, profound approach and practical, tangible outcomes – not to mention the exceptional facilitation style, which was both motivating and calming.

-Paul Towne, Sr. Director of Strategic Partnerships & Alliances at CARE USA

  • Rasanath and Hari bring both nuanced complexity and elegant simplicity to their facilitation of the Enneagram work with teams and individuals. They integrate exquisite care and sensitivity, with fortitude and challenge, resulting in an ideal environment for reflection, growth and risk. They are highly attuned to group dynamics and handle them deftly and skillfully in order to get to the heart of what is at play within a team and guide team members to new ways of seeing and understanding each other. As a result, life-changing transformation can occur both at the individual level and the team/system level. Their fierce intellect is only matched by their profound humility. I highly recommend them!

-Annie Perrin, Senior Vice President of Faculty and Content at The Energy Project

  • I think that we are being asked more and more frequently to forget that we and those with whom we work are human - we are expected to manufacture ideas, pump out creative content, and never disconnect from work, all leading to a sense that we are not being recognized as holistic beings with hearts and souls and brains that need nourishment through connection and introspection. That is one of the reasons the work of Upbuild is so essential. It has given me a new language with which I could describe how I experience the world. Understanding nine ego lenses has helped me to feel connected to a tribe of people who experience the world in a similar way and who may have many of the same struggles. At the same time, it has also helped me increase my appreciation for the value that each different lens brings to the world. This vocabulary prompts me to have important conversations about our individual experiences and viewpoints. I had an amazing experience with Upbuild and I would recommend it to anyone.
