Regular meet-ups toward sustained transformation
“A Quality of Mercy” (Twilight Zone screening & discussion)
The need for empathy, and dare we say, mercy, is so pressing today in every way. Have you also felt its absence personally and culturally? This episode of The Twilight Zone illustrates it beautifully with lots to take away. Set in WWII Philippines, inspired by creator, Rod Serling’s experiences fighting, we’ll clearly see parallels to our landscape today. As Rod Serling says:
‘The quality of mercy is not strained, it droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath. It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.’ Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice, but applicable to any moment in time, to any group of soldiery, to any nation on the face of the Earth—or, as in this case, to the Twilight Zone.
We first screened the episode back in 2011 as monks and it’s moved us enough that we’ve brought it to companies and are eager to share it with you.
More on Reset…
Reset is a community program of monthly conversations to sustain the transformative experiences of the workshops. They are the first Tuesday of every month (with a couple of exceptions) for the rest of the year. We have a lineup of programs that we cannot wait to facilitate with you, from diving deep into fresh dimensions of the Enneagram, to community dinners, to special guest swamis who have personally shaped our lives. You can see all of our intended programming for the year below.
In our workshops, we experience deeper understanding, insights and even breakthroughs that lead us to new and better ways of being in the world. But we often experience those new ways of being for only a few days or weeks before our lives and their complexities bring us back to our old ways again. What we need to sustain our new ways of being is regular reinforcement and deeper learning with like-minded individuals. This is what Reset is all about.
