Excavating Your Ego
A Framework for Realizing Your Full Potential
May 1-3, 2020

29 Little W 12th St, New York, NY

Realizing Your Full Potential

Our purpose at Upbuild is to help people realize their full potential. To do this, we must start by understanding ourselves completely – our underlying motivations, our fears, our desires, why we get triggered when we do, and how we can overcome whatever might be holding us back from achieving our goals.

This workshop gives us a framework to better understand ourselves as well as the many people in our lives. It gives us tools to make us more aware of subconscious patterns of thought that prevent us from expressing our true selves and enabling us to be who we are capable of being. And it gives us the insights to start to free ourselves from our own egos, which is the only way to realize our full potential.

What You Will Get Out Of This Workshop

Here are a few highlights of what you should expect to get out of this workshop:

  • Understanding of the underlying motivations, fears and desires of your personality type
  • Increased awareness of your blind spots and how other people might see you
  • Insight into your personal and professional relationships, particularly those in which you experience some conflict, and how to improve them
  • Greater empathy for colleagues, family and friends when their behaviors trigger you, enabling you to have more effective conversations
  • Connection with a community of people committed to working on themselves and helping each other in this work

If you’d like to talk to someone who has recently taken the workshop to hear more about the experience before signing up, please send us a message and we’ll connect you to a previous participant.

The Framework We Use

The workshop revolves around the nine distinct personality types of the Enneagram, which is a powerful system for better understanding ourselves and others, and a robust tool for personal development and transformation.

Together we will examine each of the nine types, learn about the basic motivations, fears and desires of each type, help you determine your type, discuss how to maximize each type’s potential and minimize predictable pitfalls, and introduce a series of practical exercises that you will be able to take away with you.

This workshop will simultaneously give you:

  • a thorough introduction to the Enneagram, and
  • provide a series of exercises to help us all get in touch with and better understand our own egos

Friday 6:30-9:30pm
We will start on Friday evening with an introduction to the Enneagram framework and an experiential discussion about ego, ending with dinner.

Saturday 10am-7:30pm
On Saturday morning we will begin with a meditation before delving deeper into the Enneagram framework. Throughout the day we’ll examine each personality type through multimedia profiles/vignettes, interactive exercises, and participant panels. We’ll also have an exercise to key in on our personal growth through understanding our ego. We’ll have lunch and regular short breaks to recharge, debrief, ask questions, and get to know each other better.

Sunday 10am-7:30pm
On Sunday we will wrap our examination of the remaining personality types before a closing exercise and commencement (“where do we go from here?”).

The price of the workshop for the weekend is $500. Vegetarian meals and snacks are also included.

*We’ve set aside a limited number of reduced-price spots for individuals who are not able to afford the full price of the workshop. If you need financial assistance, please click here.

**The price for individuals who are choosing to repeat the workshop is $400. Please go to the Registration page and choose that option.

Your Instructors

We’re two former monks of the Bhakti tradition and a former startup founder/CEO. We’ve spent years engaging in the work of self-observation and self-inquiry through a rigorous practice of meditation and scriptural study. We have been trained in the Enneagram by Don Riso and Russ Hudson, the preeminent teachers of this framework. And we infuse our work with our knowledge and understanding of the Bhagavad Gita to create a completely unique workshop to help people realize their full potential.

Opportunity in Spring 2020

This is our flagship workshop and it’s only held twice a year. Please join us for this opportunity in spring 2020.

We put our hearts and souls into this workshop, and we’d be thrilled for you to join us!
